No. 7 UCLA to Host Three Highly-Ranked Opponents This Week
Coming off its recent trip to Arizona, the No. 7 UCLA women's tennis team returns to the Los Angeles Tennis Center this week, hosting three highly-ranked opponents in the span of five days. Action gets underway on Tuesday, as No. 8 Baylor (9-1) comes to Westwood for a 1:30 p.m. match. The Bruins and Bears were originally scheduled to play back on Jan. 25, however rain forced the postponement of that match. UCLA's week doesn't get any easier following the Baylor showdown, as No. 3 Stanford (6-2) and No. 11 Cal (6-2) visit the LATC on Friday and Saturday, respectively. Live stats for both matches are available by clicking HERE

NCAA Semifinal Rematch on Friday
Friday's match between UCLA and Stanford is a rematch from last year's NCAA Semifinals in which UCLA won 4-2. The Bruins' win snapped a 20-match losing streak to the Cardinal, as UCLA's previous victory in the series was a 5-4 decision back on April 3, 1998. UCLA also ended Stanford's 22-match winning streak in the NCAA Tournament.

Bruins Down Wildcats, Fall Upset in Tempe
UCLA went 1-1 on the road last week in Arizona, defeating the University of Arizona, 6-1 on Saturday before falling 4-3 to Arizona State on Sunday. After the Bruins' scheduled match with ASU was moved to Sunday due to rain, the Bruins opened up play with Arizona on Saturday. UCLA had little trouble in that match, taking the doubles point and winning five of six singles matches in straight sets. The Bruins then headed back for its make-up match with ASU in Tempe. UCLA lost the doubles point, but rallied to take a 3-1 lead after singles play began. The Sun Devils, however, came back to win the next three matches to pull off the upset.

New Rankings Due Out on Tuesday
Bruin senior Riza Zalameda made a significant jump in the rankings released last week, moving from No. 25 to No. 10 in singles. Two other Bruins who are currently ranked in singles are Andrea Remynse (#27) and Yasmin Schnack (#40). Zalameda and Schnack are the Bruins' highest ranked doubles team, checking in at No. 18. Three other Bruin doubles combinations are also ranked (#30 Tracy Lin/Zalameda, #49 Elizabeth Lumpkin/Stephanie Wetmore, and #51 Lin/Remynse). New team rankings will be released tomorrow (Feb. 26). ITA Rankings can be found by clicking HERE

Sampras Webster in 12th Season
UCLA head coach Stella Sampras Webster is in her 12th season at the helm of the Bruin women's tennis program. Sampras Webster, who has guided the Bruins to a pair of appearances in the NCAA Final (2004 and 2007), owns a 194-100 overall coaching record. She has also led UCLA to six top-five finishes at the NCAA Championships.
