Banachowski Announces Signing of Norwegian Mari Hole

April 13, 2009

LOS ANGELES - UCLA head women's volleyball coach Andy Banachowski has announced the signing of Norwegian 6-foot outside hitter Mari Hole.

Hole (pronounced Marr-ee Hu-leh), a native of Nordberg, Norway and member of her national team, won a bronze medal in beach volleyball with partner Linn Lehre at the 2009 Australian Youth Olympic Festival.

"I am thrilled to add Mari Hole to our incoming 2009 class of recruits," Banachowski said. "Mari will become an excellent outside hitter for us and will provide depth and experience on the left side."

"Mari is a good ball control player, as evidenced by her success playing for her national team on the beach. She jumps well and hits hard and will bring added power to our lineup."
