The UCLA men's golf team was in second place on Saturday after 36 holes in the Southern Highlands Collegiate Invitational.
The Bruins, who held a three-stroke lead at six-under par at the start of the second round, posted a team score of 305 (+17) and had a two-round total of 587 (+11). Sixth-ranked Georgia held a three-stroke lead at 584 (+8). Third-ranked Florida was in third place at 591 (+15), followed by Arizona and Texas A & M at 592 (+16).
Individually for the Bruins, only sophomore Lucas Lee was able to match par on Saturday. Lee posted a second round score of 72 (E) and was tied for first place entering the final round at 141 (-3). Junior Kevin Chappell, the first round leader, was tied for 13th place at 146 (+2) after signing for a 78 (+6). Junior Daniel Im posted a score of 77 (+5) and was tied for 20th at 148 (+4). Sophomores Erik Flores and James Lee each posted scores of 78 (+6) and were tied for 41st at 152 (+6).
