PAC-12 CONFERENCE OPENER --- UCLA (1-2, 0-0) will play its first-ever Pac-12 game on Saturday, Sept. 24 at Oregon State (0-2, 0-0). Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m. PT and the contest will be televised by Prime Ticket in the Southern California area with Bill Macdonald and J.J. Stokes in the booth along with Amy Bender on the sideline. AM 570 (KLAC) and the Bruin IMG Radio Network (Chris Roberts, Matt Stevens and Wayne Cook) will radio broadcast the contest. The game will also be broadcast nationally on SIRIUS XM (Ch. 94).

UCLA leads Oregon State 40-15-4 in a series which dates back to 1930. UCLA won last year's meeting in the Rose Bowl in dramatic fashion, 17-14, on a last-second field goal by Kai Forbath. Richard Brehaut started that game and threw for 127 yards and ran 18 times for 61 yards. Brehaut completed four of six passes on the game-winning field goal drive for 37 yards. UCLA started that final possession on its own 17-yard line with 48 seconds remaining and moved 49 yards to set up Forbath's winning kick. Linebacker Jordan Zumwalt made his first career start in the contest and led the team with nine tackles.

The Bruins have captured three of the last four contests played in Corvallis, but dropped a 26-19 decision in the last visit in 2009. Wide receiver Nelson Rosario had a breakout game in that contest, making a team-high six receptions for 152 yards and his first career touchdown, a 58-yard catch and run. His 152 receiving yards were the most by a Bruin since Craig Bragg totaled 230 versus Oregon in 2002. UCLA is 4-2 in its last six opportunities to open the conference slate on the road, including a pair of wins in Corvallis in 2002 (43-35) and 2001 (38-7). UCLA last began the conference season on the road in 2009 and dropped a 24-16 decision at Stanford.

Beaver-Bruin Connection -- In 2000-2001, UCLA offensive coordinator Mike Johnson worked on current OSU head coach Mike Riley's staff as the quarterbacks coach for the San Diego Chargers. Johnson also served on Riley's staff at Oregon State from 1997-1999 as coach of the quarterbacks and wide receivers.

UCLA defensive line coach Inoke Breckterfield played for and then coached with Mike Riley at Oregon State. He was a graduate assistant coach for the Beavers in 2007 and 2008 and served as a volunteer coach at OSU in 2006. As a player, Breckterfield was coached by Riley in his final two seasons (1997-98). He was named first-team All-Pac-10 and third team Associated Press All-American at defensive line in his senior season. Breckterfield left Oregon State as the school's career tackles for loss (55.5) and sack leader (19.5).

UCLA secondary coach Tim Hundley worked at Oregon State for eight seasons and spent six of those campaigns as defensive coordinator (1984-89) for the Beavers.
