Senior Glory Yang finished the day tied for first and helped lead the 3rd ranked UCLA women's golf team to a first place finish after round one of the Bruin Wave Invitational. Stephanie Kono and Lee Lopez finished tied for 3rd and are just one stroke back of the lead.
The Bruins posted the only under par round of the day, scoring a 281 (-7) which put them 11 shots ahead of second place Arizona, who recorded a 292 (+4). San Diego State is in 3rd with a score of 295 (+7) and Pepperdine is in 4th at 296 (+8).
Individually, Yang ended the day tied with San Diego State's Malin Enarsson for first place. She shot a 69 (-3) and is one stroke ahead of fellow Bruins Lee Lopez and Stephanie Kono, who each shot 68 (-2). Freshman Ani Gulugian recorded a solid round as well shooting a 72 (E), which was good enough for a tie for 8th. Sophomore Tiffany Lua finished tied for 12th with a 73 (+1) while junior Brianna Do competed as an individual and finished tied for 21st with a 75 (+3).
