Four of those players started for the U.S. - Feilhaber, team captain Carlos Bocanegra (1997-99), Jonathan Bornstein (2004-05) and Ante Razov (1992-95). Kamani Hill (2004-05) came off the bench in the second half to earn his first cap with the full national team.
Feilhaber's 28th-minute goal chipped over the Chinese goalkeeper's head broke a 1-1 tie, and he helped the U.S. gain a 3-1 lead in the 75th minute with a perfectly-placed corner kick that Clint Dempsey headed in for a goal. Also scoring for the U.S. were DaMarcus Beasley on a penalty kick in the 10th minute and Oguchi Onyewu in the 79th minute.
