Cook Wins Pole Vault at Mt. SAC Relays

Mt. SAC Relays Results

Scott Cook cleared a lifetime-best of 16-9.25 to win Section C of the pole vault at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut. The redshirt freshman came into the meet with a top vault of 16-4.75 and improved by nearly five inches on Friday.

Also in the pole vault, freshman Mark Sakioka finished fourth with a mark of 16-00.75.

In the shot put, Nicholas Scarvelis, who is redshirting this season, placed seventh with a lifetime-best throw of 57-4.75. Junior Nigel Davies was 11th (52-2.50) and senior Mark Weber finished 12th (52-2).

In the discus, Julian Wruck, who is also redshirting this season, finished 12th with a throw of 197-4. Sophomore Matthew Kosecki finished 20th (178-1) and senior Thomas Nagengast was 24th (173-8).

On the track, freshman Pete Lauderdale finished fifth in section four and 27th overall in the 400m (48.15). In section C of the 5000m, junior Alec Govi finished 17th with a time of 14:26.98.

Over in Azusa at the Brian Clay Invitational, senior Taylor Hobson competed in the high jump. He tied for second with a clearance of 6-8.75.
