LOS ANGELES - Eight former UCLA women's soccer players will be in action in Women's Professional Soccer (WPS) this year, as teams recently submitted their opening-day rosters to the league office.
The most Bruin players on any one team is four, as Danesha Adams, Lauren Barnes, Christina DiMartino and Valerie Henderson are all teammates on the Philadelphia Independence. The only other team that features more than one UCLA player is the Atlanta Beat, where Kristina Larsen and Kylie Wright will be reunited. Rounding out the list of Bruin players in the league are U.S. Women's National Team standout Lauren Cheney (Boston Breakers) and McCall Zerboni (Western New York Flash).
The 2011 WPS season kicks off on April 9, with Atlanta taking on Boston in Kennesaw, Ga.
