Kendricks Named Pac-12 Defensive POW

Nov. 5, 2012

Sophomore linebacker Eric Kendricks was named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week on Monday. The Fresno, CA native totaled 13 tackles, seven in the third quarter, in UCLA's 66-10 win over Arizona this past Saturday in the Rose Bowl.

The Bruin defense held the nation's fourth-ranked Wildcat offense to just 257 yards of total offense for the game, 296 yards below its season average. Kendricks registered a career-best two sacks (-13 yards) and helped limit Arizona running back Ka'Deem Carey, who entered the game with a 120.1 yard average, to 54 yards. He also forced a fumble in the third quarter that set up a UCLA touchdown on the next play. Kendricks now leads the Pac-12 and ranks 25th in the FBS in tackles per game (9.67).

Kendricks had a career-high 17 tackles in the game at Arizona State and has collected 51 tackles in the last four games. His dad, Marv, also played at UCLA and led the team in rushing in the 1970 and 1971 seasons.

No. 17/ 19 UCLA will travel to Washington State this Saturday for a 7:30 p.m. game which will be televised on ESPN2. The Bruins then return home to meet USC on Nov. 17 and Stanford on Nov. 24. For ticket information call 310-UCLA-WIN or visit uclabruins.com/tickets.
