Sophomore Ryann Krais (Eagleville, PA/Methacton HS) of the UCLA women's track & field team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Feb. 8-14.
Competing in her first pentathlon competition of the indoor season, Krais easily ran away with the Boise State Team Invite crown on Friday, bettering her nearest competitor by over 700 points. She narrowly missed her lifetime-best score by six points as she tallied the No. 5 mark in the NCAA this season (3890 points). Krais, an All-American, tallied three lifetime-best performances and won every single event in the competition. She has a season-best run in the 60m hurdles (8.91), cleared an indoor-best 5-7 in the high jump, and had indoor lifetime-best marks in the long jump (18-8) and 800m (2:17.71).
