ROHNERT PARK, Calif. - The No. 4 UCLA women's water polo rolled to a 24-4 victory at Sonoma State on Sunday afternoon. The Bruins received at least one goal from 13 different players, as nine Bruins each tallied two goals in the non-conference win.
The Bruins (9-3) jumped to a 6-2 lead after the first quarter and led by a 12-3 margin at halftime. UCLA blanked the SeaWolves, 9-0, in the third period before outscoring the opposition, 3-1, in the final frame.
Sophomore goalkeeper Kristen Simonds totaled eight saves in her first appearance of the season.
UCLA multiple-goal scorers included KK Clark, Brooke Martin, Kelsey McGinley, Gisselle Naranjo, Sarah Orozco, Monica Powers, Grace Reynolds, Camy Sullivan and Leah Trella. Megan Burmeister, Katie Estrada, Priscilla Orozco and Hannah Sebenaler each had one goal for the Bruins.
Earlier in the day, UCLA downed No. 15 UC Davis, 8-3, at Sonoma State.
UCLA returns to action playing in the UC Irvine Invitational on Feb. 27-28. The Bruins play against UC Santa Barbara on Saturday, Feb. 27, at Corona del Mar High School at 11:30 a.m.
