The defending national champion and seventh-ranked Bruins begin Pacific-10 Conference play this weekend at Easton Stadium, hosting Oregon State on Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 12 p.m. Gametracker and free live audio will be available at

Sunday's game against Oregon State will be the Bruins' annual Breast Cancer Awareness Day. The day is dedicated to raising money and awareness for the UCLA Revlon Breast Center. The Bruins will be wearing pink headbands to show their support. In addition, the marketing table at the front entrance will be filled with literature, ways to donate and other BCA activities.

The Bruins have announced that they will make up their rained out game against Loyola Marymount from March 27 on Wednesday, April 6 at 2 p.m. at Easton Stadium. Following that contest, UCLA will close out its ever-changing, number of games homestand against 12th-ranked Stanford (April 8-10). Game times are 7 p.m. on Friday, 6 p.m. on Saturday and 12 p.m. on Sunday.

The Bruins held steady in both the USA Today/NFCA and Softball polls for the second straight week, coming in at seventh and 13th, respectively. The Bruins tied Arizona for first in the Pac-10 preseason rankings, with each team receiving four first-place votes and 46 points.

Senior GiOnna DiSalvatore is one double away from becoming UCLA's all-time leader in that category. Her 59 two-baggers tie her with Tairia Mims ... senior Donna Kerr, who has at least five strikeouts in eight straight outings, is 36th in the nation with 8.7 K's per seven innings ... junior Andrea Harrison, who leads the team with nine homers, 32 RBI and an .823 slugging, has raised her batting average 121 points over her last eight games ... freshman Talee Snow has five RBI over her last five contests ... freshman Jessica Hall has fanned 15 over her last nine innings, tying a season high with eight against Saint Mary's on March 13 ... sophomore B.B. Bates leads the Bruins with 10 multiple-hit games and eight multi-RBI contests ... freshman Kellie Fox, who leads the Bruins in average (.442) and on base percentage (.546), has hits in 15 of her last 16 games (six in a row) and in 25 of 28 contests this season ... junior Katie Schroeder has four multiple-hit games over her last seven ... freshman Alyssa Tiumalu hit home runs in back-to-back games against Ohio on March 24 and UC Santa Barbara on March 29 ... junior Dani Yudin belted her first two grand slams in those same two contests ... Kelly Inouye-Perez earned her 200th-career victory on March 11 against Sacramento State and is 206-54 as the head coach ... the Bruins are 15-0 this season when scoring a run in the first inning. Over the last year and a half, UCLA is 36-1 when scoring in its opening at-bat ... the Bruins are 5-0 on Sundays ... UCLA has posted nine mercy-rule wins and six shutouts ... the Bruins are batting .356 with the bases loaded, .321 with runners in scoring position and .344 with two outs ... UCLA has hit two or more homers 14 times and are undefeated ... 82 of the Bruins' 200 runs have been scored via the home run (41.0 percent of their runs) ... UCLA has four homers in a game four times this season ... the Bruins have three grand slams, nine three-run homers, 11 two-run shots and 21 solo bombs ... 85 of UCLA's 200 runs have been scored with two outs (42.5%). Over the last four contests, 29 of its 43 runs have been scored with two outs (67.4%). Freshman Kellie Fox is ranked in the national Top 50 in four statistical categories (as of 3/28), coming in at 39th in on base percentage (.533), 40th in slugging (.808), tied for 47th in batting average (.438) and 50th in runs batted in per game (1.08). Senior Donna Kerr, junior Andrea Harrison and freshman Alyssa Tiumalu are in the Top 50 in two categories. Kerr is 32nd in earned run average (1.32) and 36th in strikeouts per seven innings (8.7), Harrison is 38th in RBI per game (1.12) and 50th in slugging (.789) and Tiumalu is 27th in on base percentage (.544) and tied for 35th in average (.444). In addition, senior GiOnna DiSalvatore is tied for 10th in doubles per game (0.42) and freshman Jessica Hall is tied for 40th with 12 wins. As a team, the Bruins are in the Top 30 in six categories. They are seventh in doubles per game (1.77), 10th in home runs per game (1.42), 12th in slugging percentage (.572), 14th in scoring (6.85), 17th in batting average (.336) and 29th in ERA (1.83).

Junior Andrea Harrison is in the Pac-10 Top 10 in seven offensive categories. She is sixth in slugging (.823), tied for sixth with nine home runs, fifth in hit by pitches (6), tied for eighth in doubles (8) and tied for 10th in on base percentage (.524), runs batted in (32) and walks (18). Freshman Kellie Fox checks in with five categories, ranking tied for third with four sacrifice hits, sixth in on base percentage (.546), seventh in slugging (.805), tied for ninth in average (.442) and tied for 10th in walks (18). In the circle, senior Donna Kerr is in the Top 10 four times, fourth in earned run average (1.36), seventh in strikeouts (91), tied for eighth in opposing batting average (.187) and ninth in innings pitched (72.0), while freshman Jessica Hall is fourth in innings (96.0), tied for fifth in wins (13) and eighth in strikeouts (83). Senior GiOnna DiSalvatore is in a tie for third with 11 doubles, while freshman Talee Snow leads all conference players with seven sacrifice hits. As a team, UCLA is first in hit by pitches (30) and sacrifice bunts (22), tied for second in doubles (49), third in on base percentage (.462) and walks (139) and fourth in slugging (.596), runs scored (200) and RBI (191). Oregon State enters Pac-10 play with a 16-8 record and has won nine consecutive games. The Beavers have played just one ranked team this season, falling to then-#1 Georgia on Feb. 25. Oregon State is batting .266 as a team with nine home runs and 11 stolen bases, averaging 4.2 runs per game. Junior Mary Claire Brenner is the lone player hitting above .300, coming in at a .352 clip with a team-best 18 runs batted in to go with two home runs. Junior Paige Hall is the team leader in homers with four and is second with 13 RBI. In the circle, three different players have started at least five games. Sophomore Tina Andreana is 3-2 with a 1.40 earned run average and 39 strikeouts in 40 innings. Sophomore Marina Demore is 7-4 with a 2.51 ERA and 73 strikeouts in 69 2/3 innings, while Hall is 6-2 with a 2.56 ERA and 40 strikeouts in 54 2/3 innings. Kirk Walker is in his 17th year at Oregon State and holds a record of 555-447-3.

UCLA has won seven straight against Oregon State and holds an 81-10 lead in the all-time series. Last year, the Bruins swept the Beavers in Corvallis (April 16-18) by scores of 12-0 in five innings, 4-2 and 10-6. UCLA has outscored Oregon State 52-14 during its seven-game winning streak. The Beavers' last win in the series was a 5-3 triumph in Corvallis on May 9, 2008. UCLA is 39-3 at home against Oregon State and has won five in a row at Easton Stadium, with the Beavers' last victory being a 2-0 triumph in Westwood on April 21, 2006.

To say that senior GiOnna DiSalvatore loves facing Oregon State would be a huge understatement. DiSalvatore has hits in all nine games during her three years against the Beavers and is batting .559 (19-for-34) with 15 runs batted in, six runs scored, three doubles and a home run. Junior Katie Schroeder has hits in five of her six contests against Oregon State and is batting .333 (6-for-18) with eight runs, four RBI, two homers and two stolen bases, while junior Dani Yudin is 4-for-10 (.400) with five walks, three runs, two doubles and an RBI. Junior Andrea Harrison is 7-for-22 (.318) with four RBI and three runs and sophomore B.B. Bates went 3-for-8 (.375) with an RBI and three runs scored in her first go-around with Oregon State last year.
