Viaggio In Italia

Looking back at the team's journey throughout the cities of Italy, we are grateful to have learned so much about its history. From the origins of the Christian faith in Rome, to the Montague and Capulet family disputes in Verona, we gained knowledge of historical occurrences that we will forever remember.

In addition to the Italian history lessons we obtained over the 10-day course, we also had a chance to learn more about each other individually. Residing in three different cities during the trip, each player was assigned a different roommate at each hotel. Thus we were able to bond with more of our teammates, especially in those small European hotel rooms; one could say as a team we became much closer both figuratively and literally! And although everyone did not get a chance to room with every teammate, the 10-day experience in and of itself allowed all of us to grow a stronger bond with one another nonetheless.

This journey has also opened our eyes to the various ways in which we, as individuals and as a whole, could improve the team this upcoming season. At our team farewell dinner, we went around and expressed our thoughts on this topic. In a nutshell we uncovered that we would bring these three things back with us: communication with one another, to remain humble, and to remain thankful. We realized at that dinner that the trip was much more than a vacation or getaway, but rather an experience that will undoubtedly improve our team this season.

Furthermore, not only are we able to bring back the cultural history of the Italians, but also a much stronger bond amongst one another that has undeniably improved our team chemistry. This trip has allotted us an opportunity of a lifetime in which we have gained experiences we will always remember, and we are truly thankful.
