Third baseman Joe De Pinto led off the frame with a double to left field, moved to third on a groundout and scored on a double down the left-field line by Green. Perren lifted a base-hit into center field, plating Green from second base.

The Trojans expanded their cushion to 6-0 in the top of the ninth with a three-run homer by Stock.

UCLA loaded the bases in the bottom of the ninth with one out and added its run on a sacrifice fly to center field by catcher Ryan Babineau, scoring Carrithers from third.
