Bruins Tied for First Round Lead at Stanford

UCLA's top-ranked women's golf team was tied for first place after the first round of competition at the Stanford Intercollegiate Friday.

The Bruins posted a team score of seven-under par 277 and were tied with Washington after 18 holes. Vanderbilt was third at 281 (-3), followed by Oregon and Stanford in a tie for fourth at 282 (-2).

Individually for the Bruins all five players recorded scores below par led by junior Lee Lopez, sophomore Ani Gulugian and freshman Erynne Lee who each posted two-under par rounds of 69 and were tied for ninth place. Junior Tiffany Lua and freshman Kyle Roig were tied for 13th at one-under par 70.

In addition, seniors Stephanie Kono and Brianna Do played as individuals. Kono was tied for fourth place at four-under par 67 and Do was tied for 43rd at two-over par 73.

Vanderbilt's Marina Alex was the leader in the clubhouse at six-under par 65.
