BRUIN INJURY REPORT
Outside of walk-on freshman forward Alex Schrempf (hip injury), all of the Bruins are slated to play in the contest versus New Mexico State on Dec. 15.
SERIES VERSUS NEW MEXICO STATE
This is just the ninth meeting between the New Mexico State Aggies and UCLA with the Bruins leading the series 7-1. The last time these two teams met was the 2005-06 season opener, an 83-70 Bruin win in at home on Nov. 15, 2005. UCLA was led by Arron Afflalo's 23 points. Jordan Farmar added 18 points and eight assists. NMSU was led by Elizah Ingram, who came off the bench to score a game-high 24 points. Bruin senior guard Michael Roll is the only current player on either team to play in that contest. He had five points, two rebounds and two assists in 19 minutes off the bench. UCLA Head Coach Ben Howland is 1-0 against NMSU.
SCOUTING NEW MEXICO STATE
New Mexico State is 3-5 on the year and is coming off a huge road victory over previously unbeaten UTEP, 87-80, on Dec. 13. The Aggies are led by junior guard Jahmar Young's 19.9 points per game. Senior guard Jonathan Gibson is second in scoring at 17.9 points per game and leads NMSU in three-pointers (25, 3.1 per game) and steals (15, 1.9 spg). Sophomore center Hamidu Rahman is the only other Aggie averaging in double figures at 13.3 points per contest. He leads the team in rebounds (9.1 rpg) and blocks (11, 1.4 bpg).
