WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Senior Megan Langenfeld was named Pacific-10 Conference Player of the Week on Monday after hitting .714 (5-for-7) with four home runs, eight runs batted in, six runs scored and three walks to help the sixth-ranked Bruins to a three-game sweep of #10 Stanford last weekend.

Langenfeld has been named Pac-10 Player of the Week three times in her career (March 13, 2007 and April 28, 2009), with the Bruins receiving their 59th conference Player of the Week award. GiOnna DiSalvatore earned the honor on Feb. 23.

Langenfeld reached in nine of her 12 plate appearances, posting a 2.571 slugging percentage and a .750 on base percentage.

On Friday, the senior tied a career high with two home runs and four runs batted in, also scoring three runs, drawing a walk and hitting a sacrifice fly. Langenfeld produced a positive outcome in all four at-bats. After walking and scoring in her first at-bat in the first inning, Langenfeld hit a leadoff solo homer in the third to put the Bruins up 3-0. She drove in the Bruins' sixth run on a sacrifice fly in the fourth and hit a two-run homer in the fifth to give UCLA a 10-0 advantage.

Langenfeld walked twice in her second and third at-bats on Saturday, scoring once, before posting a double in the seventh inning to finish the game 1-for-2.

The senior reached in three of her four plate appearances on Sunday, rounding the bases on two of them. With the Bruins up 3-0 in the second, Langenfeld hit a three-run homer to right-center to extend the lead to 6-0. After she was hit by a pitch in the third, the senior belted her second homer of the game and fourth of the weekend to left to put the Bruins up 7-0. For the second time in three days, Langenfeld tied a career high with two homers and four RBI.

Langenfeld leads the Bruins with a .525 batting average, 13 home runs, a 1.100 slugging percentage, 24 walks and a .661 slugging percentage. She is also tied for first with 34 runs scored and second with 37 runs batted in.

The Bruins open up a six-game homestand this weekend at Easton Stadium, starting with a three-game series against Oregon. Game times are Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 6 p.m. and Sunday at 12 p.m. Gametracker and live audio will be available at UCLABruins.com.
