The No. 21 UCLA swimming and diving team will begin competition Wednesday night at the 2011 Pac-10 Championships in Federal Way, WA. The conference meet runs Wednesday through Saturday and features six top 25 teams, including No. 1 Stanford, No. 4 Cal, No. 6 USC, No. 7 Arizona, No. 21 UCLA and No. 25 Arizona State. Last season, the Bruins finished fifth, their highest finish since the 2007-2008 season when they were fourth.
Wednesday features finals of the 200 medley relay and the 800 freestyle relay. Those events begin at 6:00 pm.
Thursday through Saturday events will have prelims at 11:00 am every day with finals every night at 6:00 pm. Thursday features the women's one-meter diving competition, 500 freestyle, 200 IM, 50 freestyle and the 200 freestyle relay. Friday features women's three-meter diving, 400 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 freestyle, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke and 400 medley relay. Saturday caps off the conference meet with the 1650 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, women's platform and the 400 freestyle relay.
Several Bruins are poised to battle for a Pac-10 individual crown including Laura Winn on tower, Brittany Beauchan in the breaststroke events, Alex Sullivan in the 200 free and Lauren Hall in the IM events. The last time the Bruins were in the pool, multiple lifetime-bests, season-bests and NCAA times were achieved and UCLA is poised to build on the momentum from the dual with USC and continue to swim fast.

The 200 free relay ranks fifth (1:31.17), the 400 free relay ranks sixth (3:22.92), the 800 free relay is seventh (7:30.59), the 200 medley relay is sixth (1:40.35) and the 400 medley relay is eighth (3:47.15).
All tickets will be available at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center on the day of the event only. Gates open at 10 a.m. each day.
