LOS ANGELES - Senior Rachael Kidder led all players with 14 kills, senior Tabi Love added 12 kills and senior Bojana Todorovic posted 17 digs, as the top-ranked Bruins swept Oregon State on Friday at the John Wooden Center. Set scores were 25-14, 25-18, 25-17.

The Bruins improve to 9-2 overall and 1-1 in Pac-12 play, while the Beavers fall to 10-4 overall and 0-2 in league action.

Freshman Becca Strehlow recorded 37 assists and six digs, while junior Kelly Reeves added eight kills and six digs. Defensively, sophomore Zoë Nightingale had six blocks, while junior Meg Norton posted six digs. The Bruins hit .305 for the match.

The Bruins led from start to finish in taking the opener, scoring the first four points on a kill by junior Mariana Aquino, an Oregon State attack error, an ace by Strehlow and a combo block by Aquino and Reeves. Oregon State closed to within two at 6-4, but seven straight for UCLA made it 13-4. Kidder had three points during the run on three kills, Reeves also posted three on two aces and a kill and Nightingale added a kill.

Seven is as close as the Beavers would get for the rest of the set. Up 14-7, the Bruins went on a 6-1 run to take their first double-digit lead. Five of the six points came on Love kills, while Reeves also had a kill to make it 20-8. A combo roof from Kidder and Nightingale on the Bruins' first set point gave them a 25-14 victory in the opener. Love led the Bruins with seven kills, Kidder added four and Reeves posted three. Todorovic added eight digs, as the Bruins out-hit the Beavers .368 to .094.

The Beavers took their first lead of the match by scoring the initial point of set two, but the Bruins scored the next four on two kills by Reeves, and a kill and a solo block from Kidder, to go up 4-1. UCLA led for the rest of the set. Oregon State got to within two on multiple occasions, but would get no closer.

Up 15-13, an Oregon State service and attack error, and a Kidder kill, made it 18-13. Leading 23-18, the Bruins scored the last two points on a kill by freshman Hannah Boland and a combo block from Nightingale and sophomore Karsta Lowe to win it 25-18. Kidder paced the Bruins with six kills, while Reeves added four, as the Bruins out-hit the Beavers .281 to .129.

Oregon State held an early 6-2 lead in the third set, but the Bruins scored four straight on three Beaver errors and a Lowe/Nightingale combo block to tie things at six. An OSU sideout kept the visitors in the lead, but the Bruins went on an 8-0 run to break it open. Kills by Lowe, Strehlow and three in a row from Kidder made it 11-7. After an OSU attack error, kills by Reeves and Strehlow put the Bruins up 14-7.

The Bruins' lead never dipped below five for the rest of the set and reached as high as 10. At 14-9, five in a row on kills by Kidder and Nightingale, two in a row from Love and an OSU attack error made it a 10-point difference. Still up 22-17, the Bruins scored the last three on a Beaver service error, a combo block by Nightingale and freshman Maddy Klineman and a Lowe kill to win the third 25-17. Love had five kills to lead the Bruins in the third, while Kidder added four. Todorovic posted five digs, as the Bruins out-hit the Beavers .316 to .176.

The Bruins head to the Pacific Northwest next week, facing fifth-ranked Washington on Wednesday at 7 p.m. The match will be broadcast live on Pac-12 Networks. Gametracker will also be available at UCLABruins.com.
