UCLA Travels East for NCAA Regional at LSU

April 30, 2007

The UCLA women's golf team travels to Louisiana for the NCAA East Regional, May 10-12, hosted by LSU at the University Club in Baton Rouge.

The Bruins, seeded second, will be paired with top-seeded Duke and SEC powerhouse Auburn. The trip East will be their first since the regional format began in 1993.

"We're very happy to have the opportunity to travel to LSU to play in the NCAA East Regional," said Head Coach Carrie Forsyth. "I've heard very good things about the University Club. The field in the East Regional is deep, but we believe that we will do well, and are hopeful that we can have a strong finish and build some momentum for the NCAA Championships later in May."

In Forsyth's eight-year tenure the Bruins have won three regional titles, the most recent in 2005. UCLA has recorded six straight Top 5 regional finishes.

The University Club will play to a par of 72 over 6,403 yards.
