No. 3 UCLA Women's Water Polo Edges U.S. Junior National Team, 12-8

PALO ALTO, Calif. - Freshman KK Clark scored five goals and senior Brittany Fullen logged 12 saves to help lead the No. 3 UCLA women's water polo team past the U.S. Junior National Team on Sunday morning, sending the Bruins into a third-place match Sunday afternoon against No. 2 Stanford.

The exhibition match against the U.S. Junior National Team does not count in UCLA's official stats or record.

The Bruins (5-1) received two goals each from sophomore Kelly Easterday and freshman Hannah Sebenaler. Sophomores Megan Burmeister, Katie Estrada and Priscilla Orozco each added one goal.

The U.S. Junior National Team was led by Heather Moody and Dominique Sardo, as each player tallied two goals. Team USA goalkeeper Ruth Milne logged five saves.

UCLA raced to a 4-2 lead after the first quarter, before Team USA outscored the Bruins by a 3-1 margin in the second frame, tying the contest 5-5 at halftime.

The Bruins pulled away in the third quarter with a 4-1 scoring run to assume a 9-6 advantage. In the final frame, UCLA outscored the opposition, 3-2.

No. 3 UCLA faces No. 2 Stanford (4-1) on Sunday at 3:15 p.m. in the tournament's third-place match.
