About the UCLA Women's Cup
The UCLA Women's Cup began in 2001, as Cal Poly, Princeton and LMU joined UCLA to make up the field that year. This year marks the eighth season of the event (there was no Women's Cup in 2004) with the Bruins' owning a Women's Cup record of 11-2-1. Both of UCLA's losses in the event came against Penn State.

UCLA Against the Field
The Bruins own a 10-1 record against the three other teams participating in the UCLA Women's Cup. All 10 of those wins, however, are against the one team the Bruins are not facing this week: LMU. The Bruins have never played Missouri, and lost to Utah, 2-1 in the only meeting between the two team teams back in 2004.

Ellis Going for 200
With her next win, head coach Jillian Ellis will notch her 200th coaching victory at UCLA, as she currently owns a record of 199-35-12 (.833). Her overall coaching record, which includes two seasons at the University of Illinois, stands at 218-53-12.

Larsen's Two-Goal Performance Sinks Gonzaga
Senior forward Kristina Larsen notched her first multiple-goal match of the season last Sunday, scoring both goals in the Bruins' 2-0 victory over Gonzaga at Drake Stadium. Larsen's goals came early in each half, as she scored in the second minute of the match, and again just 23 seconds into the second half. For her efforts, she was named to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week. A replay of Larsen's goals can be viewed online HERE.

Bruins Move Up National Ranking Charts
UCLA checks in at its highest ranking of the season this week, reaching No. 4 in the NSCAA/adidas Coaches' Poll. The Bruins also jumped a spot from No. 6 to No. 5 in Soccer America's weekly rankings. The NSCAA rankings can be found HERE.

Adams Headed to Philadelphia
Women's Professional Soccer held the WPS Expansion Draft on Tuesday for its two 2010 expansion clubs, the Atlanta Beat and the Philadelphia Independence. Former Bruin All-American Danesha Adams, who was a member of the Chicago Red Stars, was picked up by Philadelphia in the second round (11th overall). More information about the draft can be found HERE.

USC Match to Air on Fox Soccer Channel
Fox Soccer Channel is scheduled to air a live broadcast of the UCLA-USC match on Oct. 30 at Drake Stadium. That match is scheduled to start at 7:00 p.m. Fox Sports Net carried last year's match at the LA Coliseum, a 2-1 UCLA victory.
