ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - Travis Wear scored a career-high 20 points, his twin brother David Wear added 14 points and UCLA held on to defeat Arizona, 65-58, on Thursday night before 9,247 at the Honda Center.

The Bruins (8-7, 1-2) won their first Pac-12 game, a contest billed as the annual John R. Wooden Classic, after losing at Stanford and California last weekend.

Lazeric Jones registered 13 points, five rebounds, four assists and three steals for UCLA.

Solomon Hill had 16 points and 11 rebounds, and Jesse Perry added 13 points for Arizona (10-5, 1-1).

UCLA never trailed in the second half, having secured a 37-30 lead by halftime. Trailing 10-9 with 15:21 to play in the first half, the Bruins used an 11-3 scoring run to secure a 21-12 advantage at the 10:51 mark.

The Bruins improved to 3-0 in games at the Honda Center this season, playing four of their 18 home contests at the arena in Anaheim, Calif., while UCLA's Pauley Pavilion home undergoes renovations.

UCLA had an 11-point lead with 14:27 left in the second half shaved to just three points (57-54) after Hill made a layup with 3:27 to play.

The Bruins held on for the victory, as Travis Wear sunk two free throw shots at 3:09 to lead 59-54. A free throw shot from Tyler Lamb at the 1:15 mark put UCLA ahead of Arizona, 60-54.

UCLA returns to action against Arizona State on Saturday, Jan. 7, at the Honda Center. Game time is 7:30 p.m. The Pac-12 contest will be televised on FS West.
