LOS ANGELES - Senior Tabi Love had 14 kills and five digs, senior Rachael Kidder posted 13 kills and four blocks and sophomore Megan Moenoa came off the bench to record 22 assists, three kills, three digs and three blocks, as the sixth-ranked Bruins staved off a pair of Colorado set points in the third set to sweep the Buffaloes on Friday at the John Wooden Center. Set scores were 25-20, 25-16, 26-24.

The Bruins improve to 15-4 overall and 7-3 in Pac-12 play, while the Buffaloes fall to 13-8 and 3-6 in league action.

Sophomore Zoë Nightingale registered seven blocks, including three solos, to go with three kills, while junior Mariana Aquino added four kills and three roofs. In a set and a half, freshman Becca Strehlow posted 14 assists and three digs, junior Kelly Reeves added six digs and four kills with no errors in 10 attempts (.400), sophomore Karsta Lowe had three kills in one set, senior Bojana Todorovic produced 10 digs and junior Meg Norton notched six digs. The Bruins hit .317 for the match.

Colorado's only lead of the opening set was at 2-1, at which point UCLA scored four straight on an Aquino kill, a Nightingale solo block, a Colorado attack error and a combo roof from Nightingale and Reeves to make it 5-2. Leading 7-4, the Bruins scored four of the next five to take a set-best lead of six at 11-5. Kidder had two kills, Aquino added one and Colorado committed a ball handling error.

For the rest of the set, the Bruins' lead stayed between three and six. With the score 17-14, a Kidder kill and solo block and an Aquino kill made it 20-14. Colorado again cut the deficit to three at 22-19, but the Bruins scored three of the last four on a Reeves kill and two CU errors, including a service miscue by the Buffs on UCLA's second set point to win it 25-20. Aquino and Kidder each had four kills to pace the Bruins in the first, while Reeves added three. The Bruins out-hit the Buffaloes .394 to .200.

The Bruins jumped out to an early 4-2 lead in set two on kills by Love and Nightingale and a pair of Colorado attack errors, but the Buffaloes came back with eight of the next 11 to take a set-best edge of three at 10-7. Trailing 12-10, the Bruins scored four in a row and nine of 10 to go up 19-13. A kill by Nightingale, two in a row from Love and a Moenoa kill accounted for the 4-0 run to make it 14-12. After a Colorado sideout, Love had a kill, Nightingale posted a kill and a solo block and the Buffs made two errors to give the Bruins a six-point advantage.

Leading 20-15, UCLA scored five of the last six of the set. Kills by Moenoa and Kidder, an Aquino/Kidder combo block and a Moenoa ace gave the Bruins a bunch of set points, and on attempt number two, Aquino and Kidder teamed up for a roof to finish a 25-16 victory. Love had seven of UCLA's 16 kills in the second set, Kidder added four and Nightingale posted three. The Bruins out-hit the Buffaloes .444 to .103.

Colorado took an early 3-1 lead in set three, but runs of 4-0 and 7-2 put UCLA ahead 8-5. A pair of Love kills sandwiched between a Nightingale solo block and a Buffs error made it 5-3 Bruins. After two in a for Colorado tied things at five, a Love kill and back-to-back combo blocks by Moenoa and Nightingale and Kidder and Nightingale put the Bruins up by three. With UCLA leading 10-8, Colorado scored five of six to go back ahead 13-11. The Buffs' biggest lead of the set was three at 16-13 and 17-14.

The Bruins came back with four in a row on two Kidder kills, a Colorado attack error and a combo block by Moenoa and Nightingale to get the lead again at 18-17, but three straight by the Buffaloes gave the visitors a 20-17 edge. Two Kidder kills and a dig-kill by Moenoa put the Bruins ahead again at 21-20, but another 3-0 Colorado run put the visitors up 23-21.

Two sideouts later, the Buffaloes had a pair of set points and a 24-22 lead, but a kill by Lowe and a Colorado attack error equaled the score at 24. A combo block by Lowe and Nightingale gave the Bruins match point and Lowe posted her third kill of the set to clinch a 26-24 win. Kidder and Love each had five kills in the third, while Nightingale added four blocks. The Bruins out-hit the Buffaloes .171 to .079.

The Bruins continue their four-match homestand next Friday, Oct. 26 against Washington State at 8 p.m. at the John Wooden Center. The match will be broadcast live on Pac-12 Networks. Gametracker and free audio will also be available at UCLABruins.com.
