SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Junior Rachael Kidder earned AVCA First-Team All-America honors on Wednesday. It is the first All-America award for Kidder, the 43rd honor in UCLA history and the 24th first-team accolade for a Bruin.
The awards will be presented on Friday in San Antonio at the AVCA All-America/Players of the Year Banquet presented by Zamst.
Kidder, who was named AVCA All-Pacific Region and All-Pac-12 first team, leads the Bruins with 4.63 kills and 5.17 points per set. She is also averaging 1.95 digs and 0.71 blocks per set. Kidder was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Lexington Regional last weekend, posting 26 kills in the Regional Championship against Texas and 15 versus Penn State in the Regional Semifinal.
The ninth-seeded Bruins face #12-seed Florida State on Thursday in the National Semifinals. First serve is scheduled for 4 p.m. PT and the match will be televised live on ESPN2 and online at ESPN3.com.
