Gruendler/Kohlloeffel Advance to Semifinals at Pac-10 Championships

Ojai, Calif. - UCLA's top-seeded duo of Benjamin Kohlloeffel and Philipp Gruendler won a pair of doubles matches Friday to advance to the semifinals of the main draw at the Pac-10 Championships at Libbey Park in Ojai, Calif.

Gruendler and Kohlloeffel began the afternoon with an 8-4 victory over Oregon's Alex Cornelisson/Geoff Embry. They followed that up with an extremely close 9-8(5) win against Arizona's Bruno Alcala/Ravid Hezi in the second round. Awaiting Gruendler and Kohlloeffel in the semifinals is USC's Robert Farah/Kaes Van't Hof.

UCLA's Mathieu Dehaine and Jeremy Drean won their opening round match on Friday, however fell in the second round to 8-5 to Stanford's Matt Bruch/Blake Muller. The same went for Jaysen Chung and Michael Look in the invitational doubles draw. After recording an 8-6 win over Cal's Ken Nakahara/Kallim Stewart, the duo fell to Washington's Derek Drabble/Andy Kuharszky, 8-5.

With the exception of Gruendler and Kohlloeffel, the only other UCLA player still alive in the tournament is Andrew Eklov, who has advanced to the semifinals of the invitational doubles draw by playing with Stanford's Jeff Zeller.

UCLA does not have any singles players left in the tounament.
