Palo Alto, Calif. - First baseman Cody Decker continued his hot hitting, ripping a three-run home run and totaling four RBI to lead the UCLA baseball team to a 10-4 victory and three-game sweep of Stanford at Sunken Diamond Sunday afternoon. The Bruins swept Stanford on the road for the first time since April 1991 and notched their first road series victory against the Cardinal since May 1997.

Prior to this weekend, no team had swept Stanford at Sunken Diamond since Arizona State did so in 1997 (April 11-13) - the Cardinal had not been swept in their last 71 regular-season home three-game series. With Sunday's victory, UCLA increased its win streak to a season-high five games.

Decker led UCLA's offensive attack, posting a 3-for-4 effort at the plate Sunday and finished the weekend series 6-for-14 with 17 total bases, three home runs, 10 RBI and four runs scored at Stanford. Catcher Ryan Babineau delivered his first home run of the season and ended the day 1-for-4 with two RBI.

Freshman left-hander Gavin Brooks (3-3) earned his second victory in seven days, striking out eight through a career-high eight innings. The Vista, Calif., resident allowed three runs off seven hits. Stanford right-hander Nolan Gallagher (2-3) absorbed the loss, allowing eight runs (six earned) off seven hits in 3 2/3 innings.

Stanford took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run home run to right by left fielder Joey August. UCLA responded with two runs off three hits in the top of the second. With the bases loaded, center fielder Brady Dolan grounded a ball up the middle to score right fielder Gabe Cohen and left fielder Will Penniall.

The Cardinal cut UCLA's lead in half, making the score 4-3 with one run in the bottom of the third. Second baseman Adam Sorgi led off the inning with a base hit up the middle, took second on left fielder Joey August's walk and scored on a single to center by third baseman Cord Phelps. The Bruins benefited from the spacious foul territory at Sunken Diamond, recording three foul pop outs against Stanford that inning.

Babineau belted a two-run home run with one out, giving the Bruins a 6-3 advantage in the top of the fourth inning. The Bruins jumped out to a 9-3 lead on Decker's three-run home run to left later that inning.

The Bruins added their final run in the ninth inning on an RBI-double by Cohen, plating Crawford from second.

UCLA returns to action Thursday with a 6 p.m. start at home against Washington (15-11, 4-2 Pac-10). The Bruins and Huskies continue their series Friday at 6 p.m. and conclude the three-game set Saturday at 2 p.m. Washington has won 13 of its last 16 games and dropped two of three games at home to Arizona State this weekend.

Game Notes: The Bruins improve to 137-185 overall against the Cardinal and have won five of the last six meetings...Alden Carrithers extended his hitting streak to nine games...Cody Decker entered the weekend at Stanford with 10 RBI on the season and doubled that total with six RBI on Saturday and four on Sunday...the Bruins outscored the Cardinal, 34-17, over the weekend.
