Junior Sydnee Michaels (Temecula, CA/Linfield Christian) of the UCLA women's golf team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Sept. 22-28.
Michaels won the Mason Rudolph Championship with scores of 68-70-67--205 (-11) and led the Bruin team to its second tournament title in as many starts, beating runner-up and top-ranked USC by six shots. Michaels' victory was the second of her collegiate career and first since her freshman season. She leads the Bruins in stroke average at 70.8 and is seven-under par through six rounds this season. Michaels, the GolfWorld and Golf Week Player of the Week, made a hole-in-one in the second round.
This is Michaels' first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of her career.
