As temperatures dropped and winds swirled, the No. 1 ranked UCLA women's golf team kept its composure and recorded its fifth victory of the season, capturing the PING/ASU Invitational for the third straight year.

The Bruins began the day with a nine-shot advantage, won by 12 and added the 45th team title in Head Coach Carrie Forsyth's 13-year career. The Bruins also won this event for the fifth time since 2004 and produced their third new individual champion in sophomore Ani Gulugian.

Gulugian officially tied for first place with Demi Runas of UC Davis, but with no playoff scheduled, both players were declared co-champions. They tied at 212 (-1) and Gulugian posted a final round 71 (E), an admirable score considering the howling desert winds on the inward nine.

Teammate Tiffany Lua, the 36-hole leader, tied for third after posting a 77 (+6).

Junior Lee Lopez tied for third at 214 (+1) following a final round 71 (E) and freshman Erynne Lee tied for 19th after posting a score of 74 (+3) on Sunday. Senior Brianna Do tied for 46th at 226 (+13) after carding a 76 (+5).

In the team race, the Bruins (857, +5) won by a dozen shots over host Arizona State (869, +17). Texas A&M finished third at 874 (+22), followed by TCU at 879 (+27) and USC (+29).
