Aug. 3, 2011

The UCLA men's soccer team has earned the preseason No. 2 ranking by both College Soccer News and Goal.com. The Bruins, who ended the 2010 season with a 16-5-1 record and advanced to the NCAA quarterfinals, return all 11 starters from last year, including All-American Kelyn Rowe (7g, 10a), top returning scorer Victor Chavez (10g, 5a) and all-conference goalkeeper Brian Rowe (8 shutouts).

UCLA will kick off the 2011 season at College Soccer News's No. 1, Louisville in a rematch of last season's NCAA quarterfinals, which the Cardinals won, 5-4. The Bruins will host two other College Soccer News Top 10 teams this year - No. 5 SMU (Sept. 25) and No. 9 UC Santa Barbara (Sept. 16). Additionally, UCLA will play No. 14 California and No. 19 LMU.
