UCLA Overcomes Deficit vs. SJSU
The Bruins scored four goals in the fourth quarter to overcome a 5-4 deficit and secure their eighth consecutive win last Saturday in an MPSF match at home against San Jose State. Sarah Orozco scored the game-tying and game-winning goals for UCLA, which improved to 3-0 in MPSF action.
Bruins Outlast USC in Road Win
UCLA rallied from a 4-2 halftime deficit by limiting USC to one goal in the second half two weeks ago to defeat the Women of Troy, 6-5. The Bruins improved to 2-0 this season against USC with the MPSF victory on March 3. Caitlin Dement recorded 11 saves and helped UCLA hold USC scoreless in the fourth quarter of a crucial win.
Player of the Week Selections
KK Clark has twice captured MPSF Player of the Week acclaim this season, while Caitlin Dement secured the weekly honor two weeks ago. Clark was named MPSF Player of the Week after UCLA went 3-0 at the Michigan Invitational the first weekend of the season and after leading UCLA to the UCI Invitational title on Feb. 26. Dement recorded 11 saves in UCLA's 6-5 win at USC on March 3 to earn the weekly award.
UCLA Wins UCI Invitational Title
KK Clark scored a team-leading nine goals in four matches and Caitlin Dement finished the weekend with 39 saves to help UCLA win the UCI Invitational championship (Feb. 25-26). After cruising past Cal State Northridge (13-4) and Michigan (13-3) on Saturday, the Bruins recorded a pair of one-goal wins against USC (8-7) and Stanford (5-4) to win the title that Sunday.
Bruins Stand Atop National Poll
UCLA was named the No. 1-ranked team on Wednesday, Feb. 29, marking the first time that the Bruins have secured outright possession of the number one spot since May 2009, after winning that season's NCAA Championship. UCLA and USC shared the number one ranking for two weeks prior to the 2010 NCAA Tournament.
Schedule Shifts Toward MPSF Play
The Bruins have six regular-season contests remaining on their schedule, and four of those games will count in the MPSF standings. After hosting Arizona State this Saturday, the Bruins will play four consecutive road matches before hosting Stanford on April 21 to end the season. The only non-conference games left on UCLA's schedule include road contests at UC Irvine (April 14) and Loyola Marymount (April 15).

Senior KK Clark leads UCLA with 33 goals and ranks fourth among MPSF field players with a 2.20 goals per match average. The senior from Atherton, Calif., scored UCLA's first 13 matches this season and has netted two goals or more in 11 games. She has twice earned MPSF Player of the Week honors.
Bruins Stingy on Defense

The Bruins have limited their opposition to five goals or fewer in 12 of the team's 15 matches. UCLA has allowed a season-low three goals in three victories this year (twice at Stanford Invitational, once at UCI Invitational).
