Fourth-ranked UCLA and 10th ranked USC forged a dual match tie at the Los Angeles Country Club Thursday.

After five and half hours of golf, the Bruins and Trojans were deadlocked 2.5-2.5 with each side recording a pair of match play victories and one singles match halved.

USC struck first at No.1 singles with freshman Jamie Lovemark beating UCLA junior Kevin Chappell, 3 & 2. The match was all-square at the seventh until Chappell dropped two points with bogeys at the eighth and ninth. He would not recover on the inward nine.

At No. 5 singles, the Bruins' Craig Leslie defeated USC's Jordan Nasser, 4 & 3. Leslie sealed the victory with a conceded one-foot birdie at the 15th hole after Nasser missed his long birdie attempt there.

Matches two, three and four each carried to the final hole. At No. 2 singles, UCLA junior Daniel Im watched a 3-up lead nearly evaporate until he closed out USC freshman Rory Hie, 1-up.

At No.3, UCLA freshman Jason Kang forged a tie when his opponent, Joshua Wooding, lost a ball in the left rough at the 18th hole and was forced to re-hit from the tee.

At No. 4 singles, UCLA's Erik Flores bogeyed the 17th hole to give his opponent, Tom Glissmeyer a 1-up lead entering the final hole. Flores' long par putt at the 18th didn't drop, and Glissmeyer won 2-up.

Despite the tie, USC still earns five Lexus Guantlet points because the tiebreaker reverts back to the Pac-10 Championship, which the Trojans won on Apr. 25.

Results: UCLA 2.5, USC, 2.5
Jamie Lovemark, USC d. Kevin Chappell, UCLA, 3&2
Daniel Im, UCLA d. Rory Hie, USC, 1-up
Jason Kang, UCLA and Joshua Wooding, USC, halved
