Junior All-American Marisa Samaniego finished seventh on one meter at the U.S. Senior Nationals in Palo Alto on Wednesday as she posted a score of 248.90.
Samaniego was tenth after the prelim round wtih a score of 215.75 and then moved up to second during the semifinal round (245.15). In the final, she dropped to seventh with a score of 248.90.
"Each round Marisa got better, tougher and sharper," said dive coach Tom Stebbins. "We are looking forward to carrying that over to the three meter competition."
On Thursday, fellow junior All-American Tess Schofield will compete in the prelim and semifinal rounds of the tower event (the final is on Saturday). Samaniego will compete in the three meter contest on Friday (prelim/semi) and Sunday (final).
