The Bruin swim and dive team will travel down the 405 Freeway for the UC Irvine Ayres Invitational this Saturday and Sunday at the Anteater Aquatics Center.The Invitationals consist of three separate swim meets and a diving meet. The Sprint Invitational starts the event off Saturday at 9:00 a.m. with the Distance Invitational to follow shortly after the conclusion of the first meet. The Diving Invitational will take place both Saturday and Sunday along with the swim meets. The event will conclude Sunday with the Relay Invitational at 10:00 a.m. at Anteater Aquatics Complex.
Thirteen women's teams will be competing at the meet - UCLA, Nebraska, Washington State, Wyoming, UC Irvine, Cal State Northridge, Pepperdine, San Diego, Concordia-Irvine, Soka, Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Occidental and the University of Incarnate Word.
The Bruins have been off from competition since early December and are back in the pool and ready to tackle the final half of their schedule. UCLA holds a record of 4-1 on the year with wins over Oregon State, Arizona State, UC Santa Barbara and U. of San Diego. Their only loss came to the Arizona Wildcats.
