Los Angeles, Calif. - The Seattle Sounders defeated the Los Angeles Galaxy in the second leg of the Wester Conference Finals on Sunday night, 2-1, but the Galaxy advanced to the 2012 MLS Cup, 4-2, on aggregate. UCLA alums David Estrada and Michael Stephens each played in the match with Estrada logging 17 minutes for the Sounders and Stephens playing six minutes for the Galaxy. Estrada had one shot on goal in the match while Stephens did not record a statistic.

A total of four UCLA alums (Brian Perk, Brian Rowe, Kyle Nakazawa and Stephens) will play for the Galaxy in the 2012 MLS Cup against the Houston Dynamo in a rematch of last year's MLS Cup. UCLA alum Chad Barrett, who played in 18 matches for the Galaxy in 2012, is currently on loan with Norwegian club Vålerenga. The Galaxy defeated the Dynamo, 1-0, a year ago in the MLS Cup and will look to earn their second consecutive championship this season. The 2012 MLS Cup will be played on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 1:30 pm PT at the Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.

UCLA alums have won MLS titles in each of the last eight years and a total of 24 Bruins have won at least one MLS Cup as either a player or head coach. Barrett, Stephens, Perk, and fellow UCLA alums Sean Alvarado and Frankie Hejduk won the 2011 MLS title with the Galaxy a year ago.
