Busy Weekend at Spieker Aquatics Center as Bruins Honor Seniors

Spieker Aquatics Center will host three days of action this weekend, as the Bruin Diving Invitational runs from Friday through Sunday, with the UCLA swimming team hosting Kansas and San Diego State in a tri-meet on Saturday at 11 a.m. Nine Bruins will be honored prior to Saturday's competition.

Seventeen schools, UCLA, Arizona, Arizona State, Cal Poly, California, Fresno State, Kansas, Miami, San Diego, San Diego State, San Jose State, Stanford, Tulane, UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, USC and Wisconsin, will be represented at the Bruin Diving Invitational. The weekend's festivities open with the Women's Three-Meter and Men's One-Meter preliminaries, which will both start at 11 a.m. The top 18 in both events advance to the finals. The Men's One-Meter final starts at 12:30 p.m., while the Women's Three-Meter final begins at 1:45 p.m.

On Saturday prior to the swimming and diving portions of the schedule, UCLA will honor the 2012-2013 senior class. While it is not their final home meet, as the Bruin swimming team hosts Simon Fraser on Jan. 19, Maggy Boyd, Stephanie Christofferson, Laurence Delisle, Molly Fitzgerald, Rachel Godfred, Briana Meyer, Andrea Reigel, Karoline Sanderud and Michelle Vale will be recognized around 10:50 a.m.

The 16-event swimming tri-meet between the 13th-ranked and unbeaten Bruins (8-0), Kansas and San Diego State will start at 11 a.m., as will day two of the Bruin Diving Invitational. The Women's One-Meter and Men's Three-Meter prelims will be cut down to 18 divers, as the finals start at 12:30 p.m. (Men's Three-Meter) and 2 p.m. (Women's One-Meter), respectively.

On Sunday, the Women's Platform competition commences at 9:30 a.m. with the prelims. After the field is cut to 12, the final will start at 11:30 a.m. The Men's Platform starts at 12:30 p.m., with the 12-person final beginning at 1:55 p.m.

Admission is free to all events this weekend, however a parking pass is required for any UCLA lot.
