Malibu, Calif. - Two UCLA doubles teams won semifinal matches Saturday, setting up an all-Bruin final at the Wilson/ITA West Region Men's Tennis Championships hosted by Pepperdine University.
Second-seeded Ben Kohlloeffel and Chris Surapol advanced to the final with an 8-4 victory over Arizona's Bruno Alcala/Claudio Christen. They will next face teammates Mathieu Dehaine and Jeremy Drean, who upset top-seeded Omar Altmann/Andre Begemann of Pepperdine, 8-6. Sunday's final begins at 10:00 a.m.
In singles action Saturday, Kohlloeffel, the top seed, was upset by Begemann in the quarterfinals, falling 6-3, 6-4. Surapol advanced to the semifinals after downing SDSU's Markus Dickhardt, 6-4, 6-3. He will face USC's Jamil Al-Agba on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. Al-Agba was 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 winner over Dehaine in the quarterfinals.
