Bruins Earn #5 National Seed, Will Host Regionals

LOS ANGELES - The Bruins received a #5 national seed for the NCAA Tournament on Sunday and will host the Regional round at Easton Stadium. Joining UCLA in its Regional will be San Diego State, Fresno State and Saint Mary's. Friday's schedule will feature San Diego State against Fresno State at 3 p.m. and UCLA against Saint Mary's at 5:30 p.m.

The winners of Friday's games will play the first contest on Saturday at 1 p.m., while the losers will play on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. The remaining of the schedule is listed below.

All-session passes are $29 for adults and $17 for students and single-day passes are $11 for adults and $7 for students. All-session passes can be purchased in advance starting Tuesday at UCLA's Central Ticket Office or by calling 310-UCLA-WIN (open daily, 10-4). They can also be purchased at Easton Stadium on gameday. Single-day passes are available on gameday only at Easton Stadium.

The Bruins finished the regular season with a 40-11 record, placing second in the Pac-10. UCLA defeated Fresno State 5-4 on March 5 in San Diego, but did not play San Diego State or Saint Mary's this season. The Bruins are 42-10 all-time against Fresno State, having won 13 straight in the series. UCLA is 58-2 against San Diego State, winning the last 51 matchups, and is 10-0 against Saint Mary's, but have not faced them since 2000.

Saint Mary's was the winner of the Pacific Coast Softball Conference Tournament to earn the league's automatic bid, finishing the regular season with a 30-21 record. San Diego State was 33-14, placing second in the Mountain West Conference with an 11-4 mark. Fresno State went 39-19 during the regular season and finished second in the Western Athletic Conference with a 15-6 record.

The winner of the UCLA Regional will face the winner of the Baton Rouge Regional that includes #12-seed LSU, Texas A&M, Louisiana-Lafayette and McNeese State. Super Regionals will be played May 28-30 on eight campus sites.
