Golfers Climb to Fourth at Arizona State Invitational

The 11th ranked UCLA women's golf team climbed from 10th place to fourth at the PING/ASU Invitational, hosted at the Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, AZ.

The Bruins posted a team score of 283 (-5) on Saturday and moved into fourth place with a 36-hole score of 584 (+8). Arizona State fired a team score of 280 (-6) and assumed a 16-stroke lead (656, -11) over second-place Vanderbilt (581, +5). Texas A&M was third at 583 (+7) and Stanford was fifth at 589 (+13).

UCLA sophomore Ryann O'Toole got hot on Saturday, posting a 67 (-5) to move into a tie for fifth place at 140 (-4). Even par after 12 holes, O'Toole reeled off five straight birdies to finish with her second best collegiate score. She was four strokes off the lead following Saturday's round.

The Bruins' other sophomore, Tiffany Joh, posted a 68 (-4) and was tied for 14th at 145 (+1). Senior Hannah Jun and freshman Sydnee Michaels each posted two-over par scores of 74 (+2). Jun was tied for 24th at 148 (+4) and Michaels was tied for 36th at 151 (+7). Junior Maiya Tanaka improved with a 76 (+4) in the second round and was tied for 50th at 154 (+10).

Arizona State's Jennifer Osborn posted a second round 66 (-6) and took over the lead at eight-under par 136.
