Four Bruin divers will travel to Oklahoma City this Thursday through Saturday to compete at the NCAA Zone E Championships for a place at next week's National meet.
Competing this weekend are juniors Brittany Hill, Marisa Samaniego and Tess Schofield, and freshman Morgan Erpenbeck. Samaniego will compete on the one meter and three meter boards, while Hill, Schofield and Erpenbeck will compete on all three - 1M, 3M and tower.
Seven women will advance from the zone meet to compete at the NCAA Championships in Columbus, OH March 20-22. The automatic spots are given to the top three finishers on each springboard and the winner of the tower event. Last season, Schofield won the tower contest and Samaniego was the runner-up on both springboards as both advanced to Nationals. Both juniors earned All-American honors in their respective events at last year's NCAA Championship.

Laura Winn Update
Freshman diver Laura Winn, who was injured during the prelims of three-meter at the Pac-10 meet when her face struck the diving board, has been released from the Seattle hospital she was being treated at and is now recovering at home with her family in Northern California. Winn suffered cuts and facial fractures after hitting the board, but did not need any major surgery to repair her injuries.
"Laura escaped serious injury and after a short procedure on her nose was released the same day for recovery," said dive coach Tom Stebbins. "She is now back in the comfort of her family home in Northern California. Laura's prognosis is excellent and she is looking forward to returning to the daily life of a normal college student. We will all be very happy to have her back with us."
