Golfers Begin Play at U.S. Collegiate Championship

The top-ranked UCLA men's golf team travels to Alpharetta, GA this weekend to compete in the U.S. Collegiate Championship at The Golf Club of Georgia.

The Golf Club of Georgia's Lakeside Course will play to a par of 72 over 7,017 yards. Fifteen of the nation's top teams highlight the field, including No.1 ranked UCLA, sixth-ranked Texas and ninth-ranked Washington.

UCLA sophomore Pontus Widegren, ranked No.2 nationally, is the highest ranked individual in the event. The rest of the UCLA lineup features All-American juniors Alex Shi Yup Kim and Gregor Main and freshmen Mario Clemens and Patrick Cantlay. Clemens won the Cal Poly Invitational earlier this month and Cantlay was a semifinalist at the U.S. Amateur in August.
