The Bruins entertain Arizona next weekend in their final regular-season homestand. Game times are Friday, May 4 at 7 p.m., Saturday, May 5 at 6 p.m. and Sunday, May 6 at 12 p.m.

The Bruins are 14th in the Softball poll and 15th in the USA Today/NFCA rankings this week. UCLA earned 23 more points and moved up one spot in the USA Softball standings, while the Bruins remained at 15th in the NFCA rankings despite receiving 28 additional points.

Through games played on April 22, the Bruins are the nation's leader in batting average at .359 and slugging percentage at .621. UCLA is eight points ahead of second-place Chattanooga in batting average and 39 points ahead of second-place Alabama in slugging. The Bruins are also in the top five in three other categories, ranking second in home runs (73), third in runs per game (7.27) and fourth in doubles (79). Individually, freshman Stephany LaRosa is in the Top 50 nationally in six categories, ranking sixth in batting average (.456), tied for sixth in runs batted in (57), tied for eighth in sacrifice flies (4), 11th in slugging (.859), tied for 16th in home runs (15) and tied for 32nd in runs scored. Senior Katie Schroeder is tied for eighth in runs (52), 13th in on base percentage (.550), tied for 15th in doubles (14) and 16th in average (.473). Junior B.B. Bates is 44th in slugging, while her and senior Andrea Harrison are both tied for 30th in homers (13) and tied for 48th in RBI (41). Sophomore Jessica Hall is tied for ninth with four saves, senior Dani Yudin is tied for 22nd with 35 walks and senior Samantha Camuso is 38th with a .757 slugging percentage.

Head coach Kelly Inouye-Perez recorded her 250th-career coaching victory with last Friday's win against Utah ... with last Saturday's win versus the Utes, the Bruins won their 400th Pac-10/12 game ... along with their Pac-12-best .359 batting average (through April 22), the Bruins are also first in the conference in slugging (.621), on base percentage (.447), runs scored (327), hits (435), doubles (79), home runs (73), runs batted in (309) and total bases (753). The full listing of UCLA team and individual standings in the Pac-12 is available on page five of this release ... the Bruins saw their 87-game winning streak when scoring at least six runs come to an end in the first game of the April 10 doubleheader against Stanford. It was the most runs for UCLA in a defeat since May 6, 2000 at Arizona (lost 12-9 in nine innings). Since seeing the streak snapped, the Bruins are 5-0 when scoring at least six runs ... UCLA is 20-0 this season when limiting its opponent to two runs or fewer ... the Bruins are 21-0 when leading after five innings and 20-0 when leading after six. Since 2008, UCLA is 143-1 when ahead after five (only loss vs. Florida, 2/25/11) and 132-1 when ahead after six (Washington, 4/23/11) ... 36 of the Bruins' 73 home runs have been solo shots. 21 of the 73 have been leadoff homers. The third inning has been the best for homers, as the Bruins have 21, with the first frame ranking second with 17 dingers ... senior Katie Schroeder is in the UCLA career top 10 in seven categories, ranking second in runs scored (192), third in stolen bases (49), tied for third in walks (113), fourth in on base percentage (.482) and hit by pitches (30), tied for sixth in hits (264) and seventh in batting average (.378). Senior Andrea Harrison is listed six times, coming in at fourth in slugging (.662), home runs (53) and total bases (447), fifth in runs batted in (182), sixth in doubles (47) and seventh in hit by pitches (19). Senior Dani Yudin is tied for third in walks (113), sixth in on base percentage (.444) and eighth in hit by pitches (18), senior Samantha Camuso is 10th in slugging (.594) and sophomore Jessica Hall is third in saves (6) ... freshman Ally Carda has earned a win and produced at least a pair of hits in the same game six times (Loyola Marymount, Fordham, Pittsburgh, UC Santa Barbara, Cal Poly, Stanford-Game 3) ... Camuso hit her 10th homer of the year on April 20 against Utah to give her 30 for her career and her second double-digit homer season (16 in 2010) ... sophomore Talee Snow has reached base in 24 of her last 26 games and is hitting 106 points better from her freshman to sophomore season (.239 to .345) ... Stephany LaRosa's 15 home runs are the second most by a freshman in a single season at UCLA. Stacey Nuveman holds the record with 20 in 1997 ... Hall's four saves tie her for second on UCLA's single-season list with Christa Williams (1997). Megan Langenfeld holds the record with five saves in 2008 ... Harrison is two homers away from tying for third in UCLA history (Caitlin Benyi, 55). She has reached double figures in dingers for the third straight season ... junior B.B. Bates leads the Bruins with nine game-winning RBI and seven game-winning runs scored ... sophomore Kellie Fox recorded her fourth-career, three-hit game in the first end of an April 10 doubleheader against Stanford ... Schroeder's next at-bat will be the 700th of her career. She is also two doubles away from 40 and one steal shy of 50 ... sophomore Alyssa Tiumalu hit her 10th career home run on April 20 against Utah ... Yudin is one RBI away from 100 for her career.

California has won all five of its Pac-12 series', beginning league play with three straight sweeps of Stanford, Washington and Utah. Over the last two weekends, the Golden Bears have taken two of three against Arizona and Oregon. Cal, which is 9-1 at home, is hitting .334 as a team with 68 home runs and 70 stolen bases, averaging 7.1 runs per game. Six players are hitting over .300, led by senior Valerie Arioto, who is tops on the team with a .416 batting average, 20 home runs and 53 runs batted in. Senior Jamia Reid is first with 38 stolen bases and second with a .397 batting average, while freshmen Danielle Henderson (13) and Breana Kostreba (11) both have double figures in homers. The Bears are hitting .295 during Pac-12 play with 29 homers and 12 stolen bases, averaging 6.4 runs per game. Arioto is batting .375 with eight homers and 13 RBI. In the circle, Arioto and junior Jolene Henderson have split duties. Henderson is 24-1 with a 1.11 earned run average and 201 strikeouts in 164 2/3 innings, while Arioto is 18-2 with a 1.35 ERA and 138 strikeouts in 113 2/3 innings. Henderson is undefeated in Pac-12 play at 10-0 with a 1.31 ERA and 80 strikeouts in 69 1/3 innings, while Arioto is 3-2 with a 2.69 ERA and 23 strikeouts in 28 2/3 innings.

UCLA leads the all-time series 78-25, but California has won the last four overall and five in a row in Berkeley. Last year, the Golden Bears recorded 7-2, 9-1 (5 innings) and 2-1 victories (April 29-May 1) at home. Despite the sweep, Andrea Harrison went 5-for-10 in the series, while Katie Schroeder was 3-for-9. Harrison is 10-for-23 (.435) lifetime against Cal, while Schroeder is 10-for-27 (.370). UCLA's last win in the series was a 3-1 triumph in Westwood on May 8, 2010, while its most recent win at Cal was a 7-2 victory on April 25, 2008.
