Senior defender Elise Britt (Santa Rosa, CA/Montgomery HS) of the UCLA women's soccer team was selected as the UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for Nov. 8-14.
Britt was instrumental in a pair of UCLA wins last week in the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament. Facing BYU on Thursday evening, Britt converted the decisive penalty kick in a 0-0 (4-3 PKs) decision over the Cougars to put the Bruins in the second round. She followed that up with another outstanding performance against fourth-seeded UCF on Saturday evening, scoring her first career goal on a header in the 42nd minute to help the team to a 2-1 victory and a spot in this week's NCAA Round of 16.
This is Britt's first UCLA/Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week honor of the season and of her career.
