LOS ANGELES - The UCLA women's water polo program has signed three talented high school student-athletes to National Letters of Intent, first-year head coach Brandon Brooks has announced.
The trio of high school seniors includes two-time Northern California Player of the Year with Rebecca Dorst, the consensus top-rated goalkeeper in Sami Hill and an All-CIF San Diego Section standout in Kelly Ronimus. All three players committed to UCLA during the early signing period and will report to campus in the fall of 2010.
"We are proud and happy to welcome these three young women to the Bruin family," Brooks said. "These three players fit in perfectly to our team and have a bright future in Westwood. Not only are these three student-athletes talented water polo players, but they are also fantastic people who come from excellent families."
Dorst was named the CIF Central Coast Section's Division I Player of the Year this fall, helping guide Menlo-Atherton to back-to-back CIF runner-up finishes in the Division I playoffs. Hill and Ronimus were honored as first-team All-CIF selections as juniors (2009), competing in the Southern and San Diego Sections, respectively.
