Flushing, N.Y. - After suffering an upset in Thursday's main draw, Bruin freshman Robin Anderson regrouped to win a consolation singles match on Friday at the 2011 USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
Anderson, who suffered a three-set loss to Baylor's Diana Nakic in the main draw, posted a 6-2, 6-2 victory over Vanderbilt's Jackie Wu. She will next face Ana Veselinovic of Auburn Montgomery in Saturday's consolation quarterfinals.
Anderson and teammate Skylar Morton were supposed to play a consolation doubles match on Friday, however their opponents, Lauren Embree and Joanna Mather of Florida, withdrew from the tournament. Anderson and Morton will now face TCU's Millie Nichols and Olivia Smith on Saturday.
