• UCLA leads the overall series with Cal, 49-28-1 and has won the last four meetings at the Rose Bowl.
• The Bruins have won their last seven Pac-10 Conference games over the 2006 and 2007 seasons, the longest current winning streak in the Pac-10.
• UCLA has won its last four home games against ranked teams, (#9/10 California today, #2 USC in 2006, #10 Cal in 2005, and #21 Oklahoma in 2005).
• Today's attendance of 83,494 marks the first time UCLA has had five consecutive home games in the Rose Bowl with over 70,000 fans (also Oct. 6, 2007 vs. Notre Dame - 78,543; Sept. 22, 2007 vs. Washington - 72,124; Sept. 8, 2007 vs. BYU - 72,986; Dec. 2, 2006 vs. USC - 90,622). This is the first time since the Bruins moved to the Rose Bowl in 1982 that UCLA has opened the season with four straight games with over 70,000 in attendance. This is the biggest non-USC home crowd since 84,983 attended the UCLA-Arizona State game on Nov. 12, 2005
• Cornerback Alterraun Verner's two interceptions, including one for a 76-yard touchdown late in the fourth quarter, were his first two of the year and the third and fourth of his career. Of his four career interceptions, three have been for touchdowns.
• Verner is now tied for the school record for career interception returns for touchdowns with three (tied with Jerry Robinson, 1975-78; Marcus Turner, 1985-88 and Spencer Havner, 2002-05)
Kahlil Bell's 64-yard run in the second quarter was the longest of his career.
• Wide receiver Brandon Breazell threw a 29-yard touchdown pass to Dominique Johnson in the third quarter for Breazell's first TD throw of his career. Breazell is 2-2 passing this season, having earlier thrown a 57-yard pass against Washington (9/22).
Logan Paulsen's two-yard touchdown reception in the second quarter was the first of his career.
• Kicker Kai Forbath had three field goals today (32, 28 and 27 yards) and has made 10 field goals in a row and 15 of his last 16 attempts.
• Matthew Slater had a 49-yard kickoff return in the third quarter for his 21st return of the season (No. 8 on UCLA's season kickoff return list). Slater has 566 return yards on the year for an average of 27.0 per game.

Game Captains - Craig Stevens, Matt Malele, Thomas DeCoud, DeSean Jackson
• DeSean Jackson finished the game with nine catches for 136 yards and two touchdowns...he went over 2,000 yards receiving for his career after catching three balls for 24 yards in the first quarter [Jackson also moved into Cal's top 10 career receiving yards chart]...Jackson has now caught a pass in 22 consecutive games...Jackson hauled in his third touchdown of the season in the second quarter [Jackson now ranks seventh all-time in receptions at Cal]...Jackson had over 100 yards receiving for the second time this season [Jackson had 120 yards receiving in the first half]...Jackson caught his second touchdown of the game in the third quarter - the second time this season he has had two touchdowns in a game (Oregon)
• Julian Arthur and John Allen made their first career starts for Cal
• Craig Stevens caught his second touchdown of the season in the first quarter
• Nate Longshore was a perfect 7-of-7 in Cal's second offensive series which resulted in a Golden Bear touchdown...Longshore's three touchdown passes were the most he's thrown in a game since Cal defeated UCLA last season in Berkeley.
• Worrell Williams forced a fumble [Brandon Hampton recovery] in the second quarter...Cal's defense has forced and recovered a fumble in all seven games this season
• UCLA's Kahlil Bell had the most yards rushing of any player this season vs. the Bears defense
• Tyson Alulu recorded his second fumble recovery over the season in the third quarter
• LaReylle Cunningham hauled in his second reception of the season in the third quarter
• Jahvid Best had a career-long 54-yard kickoff return in the fourth quarter
