Senior Glory Yang, junior Stephanie Kono and sophomores Lee Lopez and Tiffany Lua have been named to the Pac-10 All-Academic team as announced by the conference on Monday. Kono was named to the second team while Yang, Lopez and Lua each received honorable mention.
This is the second time that Kono has been named to the All-Academic team after she earned honorable mention last season as a sophomore. She registered a 3.39 GPA as an art history major this year.
Yang earned honorable mention for the All-Academic team for the third year in a row after scoring a 3.19 GPA as a business economics major. This is the first All-Academic selection for both Lopez and Lua. Lopez earned a 3.08 GPA as a history major while Lua majored in psychology and registered a 3.23 GPA.
The Pac-10 states that to be eligible for selection to the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must have a minimum 3.0 overall grade-point average and be either a starter or significant contributor.
The Bruins closed their 2011 season with six tournament victories and won their 3rd NCAA Championship in women's golf.
