As my team and I await our ten hour flight on Saturday in the London airport, amazed at how in just two hours time we went from using Euros to pounds, I sit and reflect on our experience in Italy.
Overwhelmed with thoughts of an amazing journey, my mind finally focuses on each individual place visited and our experiences there. I'm taken back to Rome, where we stared in awe at Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel, touched 2000 year-old marble sculptures, and walked the same ground as Saint Peter, one of the earliest martyred Christians.
I'm then taken to Florence, where we shopped for family and friends. The next stop was Venice, where my teammates and I made a video to our own version of "That's Amore" by Dean Martin while riding the gondolas. The following day we enjoyed Italian pizza and pasta after a fun game against Udine in one of the hottest gyms I've ever played in! Lake Como was one of the most elegant cities I've ever seen and was a nice relaxing way to end an adventure-packed trip with some amazing people.
This trip allowed our team the opportunity to bond and create chemistry as a group and allowed us as individuals to explore and experience a very unique culture. I'm sure I speak for my team when I say Thank You! to everyone who contributed in making this trip possible!
Peace and light,
