Eight UCLA Women's Rowers Earn All-Pac-10 Academic Honors

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Senior Alaizah Koorji and sophomore Emily McLaughlin have captured first-team Pac-10 All-Academic honors, and six UCLA women's rowers have secured honorable mention accolades, as announced by the conference office.

Koorji, a four-year varsity eight coxswain for the Bruins majoring in English, collected first-team honors from the Pac-10 for the third consecutive season. McLaughlin, a sophomore majoring in mathematics, has earned Pac-10 All-Academic honors for the first time in her career.

Koorji and McLaughlin were honored last month by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) with CRCA Scholar-Athlete honors.

UCLA's six honorable mention Pac-10 All-Academic selections are seniors Caroline Curson, Katherine Hruska, junior Ariel Handler, and sophomores Mia Hamano, Tamar Schaap and Mariko Snyder. These six rowers have secured honorable mention all-academic honors for the first time in their careers.
