Beginning today, Bruin fans will have a chance to own a piece of UCLA history.
Legendary Pauley Pavilion, one of the nation's iconic sports venues, is currently undergoing a major restoration and will reopen in fall of 2012. The home to 39 NCAA championship teams, including the final eight John Wooden championship basketball squads, will have all new locker rooms, meeting and film rooms, video boards, ribbon boards, and a revamped seating alignment. In addition, the building will have all new seats.
Fans now have the opportunity to acquire pairs of the original Pauley Pavilion seats.
Since their removal in early April, the seats have been refurbished and retrofitted with legs (they had been bolted into the concrete steps in the pavilion) and are now being made available to the public. If you enjoyed watching great moments in Pauley Pavilion, you will want to own a pair of these seats.
These pairsof seats include three armrests, including one in the middle and one on each side. Seats are available in both blue (middle level) and gold (upper level).
These pieces of Bruin history are available for $479 per pair and may be ordered online by going to http://shop.uclastore.com/p-7044-original-ucla-pauley-pavilion-chair-set-blue.aspx.
Seats ordered online may be picked up at the UCLA Store on campus after Sept. 1 to save shipping charges. Any Athletic Department profits on this venture will be reinvested in the Pauley Pavilion Renovation project.
